Description
Landowners who reside in the Upper Thames River watershed and own a minimum of 1 hectare (2.5 acres) are eligible to participate in the Tree Planting on Private Lands program of the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA). Trees purchased through this program may be planted by the landowner or through the UTRCA’s full planting service.
Planting projects may include windbreaks, highly erodible land retirement, and treed buffer strips along watercourses. Choose from a variety of coniferous and deciduous trees and wildlife shrubs.
Seedling orders will be subject to a $45.20 shipping and handling fee (includes HST) from our supplier nurseries. The seedlings will be shipped to Fanshawe Conservation Area for pick up (not home/project location).

Note: You must purchase a minimum of 50 seedlings in order to check out. Please note that seedlings are sold in bundles of 10, so a minimum of five bundles is required.
Availability is limited at this time, but we may be able to secure more from nurseries. Please contact Rob Davies, Forestry and Restoration Supervisor, at [email protected] to ask about additional species and quantities that may be available for your order.
Pick-up Information:
- UTRCA Forestry staff will contact you to confirm pick-up locations and times.
- Planting projects are completed in the spring from the end of April until May 24th.
- Seedlings can be picked up from Fanshawe Conservation Area beginning early April.
